Fined by school because our autistic son has anxiety… | Child Mental Health in the UK

We’ve had a formal warning from our autistic son’s special school over his attendance. He doesn’t attend because he’s afraid to as a result of his anxiety, and now we face a fine of £50-100 or a day in court because they don’t consider his mental health problems to be a medical reason for him not to be attending school.
