Fined by school because our autistic son has anxiety… | Child Mental Health in the UK

Description

We’ve had a formal warning from our autistic son’s special school over his attendance. He doesn’t attend because he’s afraid to as a result of his anxiety, and now we face a fine of £50-100 or a day in court because they don’t consider his mental health problems to be a medical reason for him not to be attending school.

If you want to write a letter to the school, their address is here:

Willoughby School
South Road
Bourne
Lincolnshire
PE10 9JD

Or you can email them at: reception@willoughbyschool.com

Please be nice – we want to stay as the good guys through all of this, please don’t make us the bad guys by sending threats or abuse to the school.
